There are several different door types out there. Basically, they can be divided up into two categories- interior doors and exterior doors. Interior doors are doors such as closet doors and doors to rooms such as bedrooms and bathrooms. Exterior doors include garage doors, front doors, and back doors. Here is some more information on the different types of doors that are out there. Knowing what you need will help you choose.
Front Doors
Front doors are often the first things people see when looking at homes. The state of your front door and the area around it is a good indicator of your personality and whether or not your home will be inviting. There is also a good amount of hardware that goes with it such as the door bells and door knockers.
Garage Doors
Garage doors are also an important part of the exterior of the home, especially if you use your garage a lot. You will want a garage door that is durable and will withstand constant use. You can either open them manually or also install an automatic garage door opener.
Back Doors
This is another type of exterior door you could have. Back doors are similar in shape and size to front doors, but there is no need for these to be as complex. The front door is also partially a decoration. Although, you could match the back door with the front door. It is not necessary to get a simpler back door.
Closet Doors
Most homes have closets. And where there is a closet, there should be a door. There are several different kinds of closet doors including bifold closet doors. Each has their own benefits.
Other Interior Doors
Most homes have doors in them. They are what give us privacy in the bathroom or our bedrooms. There are several different types of doors for these purposes. Make sure you get the door that is the right size for your needs. Other doors that can be placed on the inside of the home include cabinet doors and pet doors.
Special Considerations
All of these doors require their own special hardware for installation. Depending on where you purchase the door, you may need to purchase the hardware on your own. That means you will need to know exactly what is required. If you are not going to install the doors yourself, you do not need to worry about this.
